BJIT and CSE-DU jointly organized Code Samurai 2019. The event was successfully held on November 1 and 2, 2019, on the premises of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka. Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, Honorable Minister, Post and Telecommunication, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Naoki Ito, Honorable Ambassador, Embassy of Japan along with other special and honorable Japanese and Bangladeshi guests participated in this great event. Students from different parts of Bangladesh registered to participate in this event. The registration process started on 22 September and closed on 15 October 2019. To make the final list of participants for Code Samurai 2019, the information like; GitHub link, ACM link, LinkedIn Profile ID, Personal Work, Portfolio or Live work Link were checked. Also, programming contest experience, Personal Achievement of Team members, different universities, and regions were also considered to make the list of the final participants.
The list of the final participants was announced on 25 October 2019. It is to be mentioned that a total of 187 teams from around 58 private and public universities of Bangladesh registered to participate in this event. Among this huge number of teams, the Judges selected 34 teams primarily to be the final participant of Code Samurai 2019.
Among all 34 participants, three teams were awarded. Two teams from the University of Dhaka got the First and Second Place. The first team was awarded 150,000 BDT; the second team was awarded 90,000 BDT; the third team was awarded 30,000 BDT.
BJIT and CSE-DU will be going to organize the event next year. Tentative time is mid-December 2020. To make this event more attractive and competitive, the organizing committee has also made plans to invite participants from other Asian universities as well.
